This is a presentation for KS2 - KS4 (possibly more suited to Years 6-8) which contains definitions, information, advice, NHS tips and a quiz and reflection question as a plenary. It is suitable for a 10-15 minute tutor time session, assembly or PSHE session. It can easily be lengthened for a whole lesson by getting students to create a menu using all of the tips they have been given. It has been used successfully with Year 7 & 8 students and links to the new RSE and Health Education Curriculum.

This session is planned to last around 15 minutes as a short introduction for younger Secondary School pupils or older primary school (e.g. Year, 5-8 Ages 9-13). It includes a downloaded video, a short quiz and some important information all children need to know as they start or go through puberty. It has a thinking task and ground rules and can be lengthened to last a whole lesson if needed.

This is a 15 minute session on the importance of understanding the influence adverts have on us and explains subliminal messages etc. It links to the RSE & Health Curriculum as well as the wider PSHE and Citizenship curriculum and it is suitable for KS3 -KS5 (Years 7-13 Ages 11-18) but was originally planned as a PSHE tutor time session for Year 9. This is a different session that my other ‘Positivity’ session. It is suitable for KS3-KS4 (Years 7-11, Ages 11-16) for a 15 minute assembly, tutor time or PSHE session. It can also be lengthened easily to make a whole lesson. It includes why we need to and how we can remain positive, information, downloaded videos and a plenary quiz and some questions to finish. This is linked to the new RSE and Health Curriculum and the general PSHE curriculum but it can be used as a tutor time session or an assembly.

It links to the new RSE & Health Curriculum for Secondary Schools and can be used for KS3, KS4 or KS5 (Ages 11-18 Year 7-13). It could easily be lengthened for a whole PSHE lesson if required.

This is a great introduction to the terms used in PSHE or Citizenship for Extremism.

This was originally a Year 7 PSHE tutor time session but could be used as a whole school assembly for students aged 11-18, KS3-KS5, Years 7-13. It talks about Sadio Mane as a role model for facing challenges and explores the best way for students to face challenges in their lives. It has a downloaded video which will never disappear and contains discussion activites and no written tasks.

This is a 15 minute assembly or tutor time PSHE session about privilege in society. This was originally a tutor time session for PSHE but the extension tasks and videos can be used to make a whole lesson for Citizenship or PSHE. It covers which groups in UK society are privileged, two downloaded video clips that will never disappear, definitions and ways to not let privilege define our lives. It also includes two extension downloaded video clips that could be used to make it long enough for a whole lesson. This fits in with the new RSHE and PSHE curriculum and was very successful when used at school. It is suitable for KS3, KS4 & KS5, Ages 11-18, Years 7-13.

This is a 15 minute assembly, tutor time session or PSHE session for KS4 and KS5 (Ages 14-18, Years 10-13) about the rights and responsibilities we have in the workplace. It contains discussion activities and information about how to treat people and how to be safe as well as the importance of both of these. It has three short downloaded video clips so they will never disappear and is a suitable introduction to the rights and responsibilities we have in the workplace. This fits in with the new RSHE curriculum, Gatsby Careers Benchmarks and the PSHE curriculum. It can easily be lengthened to last a whole lesson if needed.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly for Children in Need suitable for all year groups from Year 5 - Year 13 (KS2, KS3, KS4, KS5, Ages 9-18) and can be used for an assembly, tutor time session, whole school, PSHE or Citizenship session. It can easily be lengthened by changing the discussion activities to written ones for it to last a whole lesson. There is a short youtube clip which is downloaded so it will never disappear. It is narrated but you can delete this by clicking on the icon and pressing delete. It covers what Children in Need is, who it helps, how and why to help. It also shows the connection with a slide on Fundamental British Values, the UN Rights of a Child and a point of Reflection. There are links to the news and other extension activities looking at quotes which teachers can use or students can have as an extension activity on an online platform or for homework. This was originally designed as a citizenship tutor time session for KS3, KS4 and KS5 for 19th November 2021. **100% of the money I receive for this resource will go straight to the Children in Need appeal. **

This is a 10-20 minute assembly on the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022. It is specifically about this year’s commonwealth games and focuses on how it will change and has changed the city of Birmingham. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12) as an assembly or tutor time session. It has no written activities just discussion tasks but this can easily be changed to make it last a whole lesson. It is narrated but this can easily be changed by deleting the icon on each slide if you would prefer it not narrated.

This is a 15 minute presentation about blood donation to encourage students to think about donating when they are older and the current need for blood in the NHS. It covers statistics, quotes from donors and their recipients as well as reasons why blood donation is important. It has two short video clips that engage the students well in learning about this important health issue and are downloaded so they will never disappear! There are discussion questions but no written tasks as this is meant for a quick overview in tutor time or similar. It can be shortened or lengthened according to the length of the session. This covers the new RSE and Health Curriculum statutory guidance and can be used in PSHE or Citizenship lessons as well. This is suitable for KS3, KS4, KS5 and possibly KS2. Ages 9-18.

This is a 10-15 minute introduction to adoption and fostering. It is suitable for an assembly or for tutor time in KS3 - KS5 (ages 11-18, Years 7-13) and was originally a PSHE tutor time session for Year 11 but could be lengthened easily to fit a whole lesson. This covers the definitions of adoption and fostering, the process and law involved and the reasons why some people choose to adopt or foster children. This is a 15 minute assembly or tutor time PSHE session about plastic pollution. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 students (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) and fits into the PSHE, Citizenship curriculum and addresses the very important current issue of damaging the environment. This explains what plastic pollution is and how we can minimise waste as an individual and as a society. It gives practical suggestions on how to stop plastic pollution and allows students to have some interesting discussions about why it is hard to recycle all plastics that we buy. This is a 10-15 minute assembly that focuses on the issue of stereotyping. It was originally a Year 7 (Ages 11-12) tutor time PSHE session but it is suitable for an assembly for KS3-KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18). It has some discussion activities and some downloaded videos that will never disappear! It could easily be lengthened to a whole PSHE lesson if needed. It includes: What stereotyping, discrimination and prejudice mean with examples Why it is unacceptable behaviour inside and outside of school Whether we are too quick to judge people or not Stereotyping in the media with girls and boys toys Plenary including a quote from Martin Luther King and a reflection discussion This fits into the PSHE curriculum, Fundamental British Values, SMSC and reflection activities for tutor time. Students reacted very positively to this session.
